How to choose the perfect industrial heater

Industrial chemical heating elements are produced by some of the best manufacturers in the industry as they require very specific standards and are made for specific uses. They are designed as per the customer’s specifications and come in a variety of wattages and materials of different grades and diameters. The normal water heating elements suppliers that we come across in the market do house some of these specially designed heating elements.

Some of these special kinds of heating elements used in the chemical industry are:

  1. Over the side immersion heaters: These heaters are used in situations where the heater shall need to be removed periodically. This could be for normal cleaning and inspection purposes or because the chemicals are too corrosive and these heaters need to be easily replaced. These heaters are also perfect for such tanks that are made up of either wood or concrete and thus cannot support a screwed immersion heater.

  1. Alkaline immersion heaters: These immersion heaters provide the same conveniences as explained for the first category of heaters while being composed of stronger materials. These immersion heaters are made up of a stainless steel tubing that resists corrosion inside the baths where they are used. They are generally used for mild acid baths, citrus juices, or alkaline cleaning solutions that cannot harm the stainless steel sheath.

  1. Teflon coated heaters: The Teflon coating provided on any heater is an even perfect guarantee of their non-corrosiveness in almost any type of bath. These heaters are used with almost all chemical baths that require handling at a higher temperature.

  1. Lead covered heaters: These are mostly used for chrome plating baths in the automobile industry. These are also used for copper and nickel plating baths or for baths that handle a sulphuric acid solution but not at more than 10% concentration. They are however not recommended for any other acid than a 10% sulphuric acid bath.

  1. Titanium sheath heaters: These are used for chrome, gold, silver, nickel baths as well as used for iron chloride and ferric solutions, nitric acid, phosphoric acid, chromic acid, nitrites, nitrates, permanganates, persulphates, dichromates, and more. These are the best chemical heating elements with huge application potential but might not be available with the normal water heating elements suppliers in your markets.

How air heating systems are chosen for industrial, domestic, and commercial purposes

Air heating is a part and parcel of many industries. It is used in bakery, laundry, oil & gas, power, and other industries for different purposes. It all depends on the requisites of the industries. Customized designs are often used to serve the purpose. Air heating elements are generally designed and manufactured based on the specific requirements of an industry. From hospitality to heating big furnaces, air heaters are used as a part of the operations. Let us find out how the responsible team of engineers choose air heaters. Things to look for in air heating systems 1.   Knowing the process Engineers first calculate the amount of air to be heated and what temperature. The rate of heat transfer will determine the equipment and industry needs. The atmosphere inside a machine will also determine the rate of heat transfer. Hence, it is the prime factor to choose the right heating elements for the purpose. 2.     Convection Another important factor to ...

How to optimally use heaters for chemical processing

Immersion heaters are the most common choice of a chemical processing plant. Immersion heaters come in a huge variety of shapes and sizes which is best to function as chemical heating elements . All that a company needs to focus upon is what type of chemical heating elements they should select as this determines the final strategy to implement immersion heaters into their system. Since immersion heaters are used for many different industrial applications, one needs to be familiar with the best choice of chemical heating elements available in the market. Immersion heaters as the name says are put in the solvent that they heat up. The solvent could be molten metals or non-metals, gases, water, oil or any other chemical. Immersion heaters are highly energy efficient as they heat the liquid while releasing their energy but one needs to familiarise themselves on the different shapes and sizes, accessories, kilowatt ratings, voltages, terminations, sheath materials and the ...
